Projector Lamp Light Life…??

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Hi, I purchased a projector with a lamp life of 3000 hours. We use it about 10 hours a day, so approx. 10 months it should last.. i checked online, and the replacement lamp is 0!!! So I was wondering, what does it mean lamp life? Does it mean, after 3000 hours it won’t work at all… or it’ll work but not recommended to use because quality has just degraded? I can live with quality degration. Anyone know where to get cheap lamps.. the newer the projector, are the lamps cheaper? Or the older?

Epson projector not counting lamp hours?

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I have just purchased an Epson EX51 Projector and am very pleased. Though I do have one issue. After more than 3 hours of use, the lamp life still says 0. I have it set to eco mode too. Is there some sort of burn in period? The manual doesn’t talk about this. I am very techy when it comes to computers, so if you want to go technical, be my guest.

How do I know if my projector needs a new lamp?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

I’ve had it since September, and it says the lamp life is supposed to be 2000 hours. But in the last week or so, I’ve noticed the picture is much dimmer than it used to be. I’ve put it on the brightest setting and it’s still much darker than the picture on my computer screen. The only thing I can think of is that the lamp needs replacing, but I just don’t understand how it could be worn out so quickly.

Does a Projector Lamp Bulb Go Out, or Gradually Dim?

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

I have a Epson Powerlite 50c projector. I bought it used and the lamp life was about 1,700 hours. I was under the impression that at about 2,000 hours (the lamp’s life expectancy) it would just go out. Now many months later, the bulb has ran for 2.892 hours. Reflecting on the earlier months, the image now does appear to be worse. Is it time I buy a new lamp? If so, do you have any suggestions as to where I should obtain it?

Is there any method to check the real time of lamp usage in projector?

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

This is very important information to see the remaining time of lamp life. We can see the time of use using the menu in projector but sometimes this is not a real one since we can reset it.
