I bought a panasonic pt ax100u projector which has a bulb expected to live around 800 hours around 700 it started to shut off once then have to be turned on and worked fine…well after 4 months later and having to turn the darn thing on 5 times before it stays on im curious as to if its a bulb issue or something else. I thought bulbs just died or dimmed for like 2 weeks then died…any thoughts?
Please visit VisualApex.com – 800-883-7495 – Thanks…Charlie Moore – President of Visual Apex – Our new “XC” series educational projectors feature SANYO’s AMF Auto Maintenance Filter system. These projectors are 3100/2600 lumens, XGA resolution and, instead of single filters, have a filter cartridge with ten lengths of filter material spooled in the cartridge. An airflow sensor determines when a length of filter is starting to clog and automatically advances a clean section in the cartridge. At the end of the spool, an on-screen graphic tells the user to change the cartridge. Cost of ownership is becoming the driving force in school specification decisions. With SANYO’s AMF system, the cost of cleaning or changing filters is reduced by a factor of ten. A Levin study (Commissioned by TI) placed an in-house maintenance cost at to per filter charge with higher costs if the labor is done by a contractor. That’s 0 to 0 saved by one cartridge. We also know that having clean filters improves lamp life and optical engine component life for further savings.

or can you not tell by looking at it? I have a panasonic pt-lb50ntu and I think the lamp is toast. I took it out, but it doesn’t ‘visibly’ look burnt out.
Oh yeah, and a follow up, the lamp can’t be completely blown because when I turn it on it does project an image for a couple seconds before the image goes away..
